چکیده

Aim Comparison of Epipedobates bassleri (Myers, 1987), which occurs on highaltitude mountain ridges (‘sky peninsulas’) in the Andean transition zone and demonstrates high levels of divergence in colouration among populations, and Epipedobates hahneli (Schulte, 1999), which occurs throughout the lowland regions of the Amazon basin and is morphologically conserved, using phylogenetic analysis of mitochondrial sequence data and comparison of colour pattern.

ارزیابی پیوستگی سیمای سرزمین و کریدورهای مهاجرتی آهوی گواتردار در مناطق مرکزی ایران

Long-term survival of Goitered gazelles in central Iran has been threatened because of isolation of existing populations and genetic threats. Effective management of these small and isolated populations needs to evaluate landscape connectivity among core habitat patches. In the present study, resistance surfaces were mapped as a function of twelve uncorrelated variables using species distributi...

Radiation and hybridization of the Little Devil poison frog (Oophaga sylvatica) in Ecuador

Geographic variation of color pattern in the South American poison frogs (Dendrobatidae) is an intriguing evolutionary phenomenon. These chemically defended anurans use bright aposematic colors to warn potential predators of their unpalatibility. However, aposematic signals are frequency-dependent and individuals deviating from a local model are at a higher risk of predation. The well-known exa...

Radiation of the polymorphic Little Devil poison frog (Oophaga sylvatica) in Ecuador

Some South American poison frogs (Dendrobatidae) are chemically defended and use bright aposematic colors to warn potential predators of their unpalatability. Aposematic signals are often frequency-dependent where individuals deviating from a local model are at a higher risk of predation. However, extreme diversity in the aposematic signal has been documented in poison frogs, especially in Ooph...

The comparative study of intra-specific variations in the various populations of Clinopodes flavidus (Geophlilomorpha, Geophilidae) in Alborz Mountain, using geometric morphometrics

The aim of this study was to determine the variations among cephalic plates of individuals in two populations of Clinopodes flavidus in Alborz Mountains, by means of landmark-based techniques of geometric morphometrics. Therefore, 17 landmarks and semi-landmarks on the coxosternite of poison claw and seven landmarks and semi-landmarks on the tarsangulum of poison claw were selected using TpsDig...

Factors Affecting Nonfarm Income Diversification among Rural Farm Households in Central Nepal

Nonfarm activities play an important role in the determination of rural household income, consumption expenditure, and household food security. However, much less studies have been devoted to the factors that influence nonfarm income diversification by farm household in developing countries. Using cross-sectional data and a probit model, this study attempts to determine the factors influencing ...
